Super Seniors are invited to our next gathering on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in our fellowship room at PVC. We’ll enjoy a delicious meal together and a live cooking demonstration featuring simple and tasty ways to incorporate more plant foods into your winter meals. Our theme is “Plant-Forward into 2026”—focusing on nourishment, warmth, and health for the year ahead. Come for the food, the learning, and the fellowship. The Christian Used Book Ministry will be here at the Pleasant Valley Church on Sabbath, January 10. Hundreds of books for children and youth will be available to browse and take for free! Bring your book bag and come ready to take home some gems!

Bettigene Reiswig was a charter member of PVC, and stayed in touch with many friends here. A memorial service is being held for her at The Village Community Room (follow the signs) on Sunday, January 11 from 2:00-4:00pm. There will be a time of sharing memories, with refreshments following the service.

To anyone who is looking for an opportunity to learn the art of fly tying or hone your skills to a sharper point, PVC is hosting Dave Passarge a master fly tier. Dave will bring some tools and materials but if you have some of your own tools and supplies, please bring them along. He will be showing us how to tie a couple of flies and is willing to help those that have something they are interested in. If you have questions, you can call Mark Kooy at 503/860-8245. At Pleasant Valley Church we have seven elders who meet regularly and also serve on the church board; from those seven are chosen a church board chair and a lead elder. Our new board chair is Andrea Alexander and our new lead elder is Dorane Brower. Thank you, Andrea and Dorane, for your service!

Pick up a “blue bag” from the labeled container in the coat closet off the foyer. Fill with your recycle donations, then drop them off at any Bottledrop location. The bags are tagged with a QR code that will automatically open the drop off door and credit our Pathfinder account with your donations.

Faith was never meant to be a solo journey, and every single one of us needs an earthly friend as a companion in the light.  Consider joining or starting a "micro-group": a group of 2-4 people living in the light together, practicing reading Scripture, prayer, and honesty, and meeting once a week.

Did you know that PVC has a weekly 12-step recovery group meeting called Journey to Wholeness?

 Journey to Wholeness is a support system for people of any faith (or lack thereof) who are struggling with things that are hurting them or the people they love. It presents a 12-step model for understanding God and ourselves as God’s creation.

Come on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM and you'll find a safe and anonymous group of individuals who are committed to health, healing, sanity, and serenity. We hope you'll join us on the Journey to Wholeness!

We would like to thank PVC members and friends who have generously donated 52 pairs of old glasses for our Global Eyeglasses Ministry Support (GEMS) project!  These glasses will be soon matched with those with those who desperately need them in Africa and Asia.

Our Project continues so “that those who do not see may see…” John‬ ‭9‬:‭39‬ ‭ESV‬‬.  A donation box is at the front reception table.
