REMEMBERING BOB SANDERS

Memorial Service at 4:00 pm on July 19

Bob Sanders lost his fight with cancer and passed away on Tuesday, July 1. Bob’s memorial service will be held at PVC on Sabbath, July 19 at 4:00 pm. Here is a note from the family:

“As we grieve and celebrate Bob’s life, we’d love to collect and preserve memories of him. Not every story can make it into the service… so we’re asking if you have a favorite story, moment, photo, or whatever you’d like to share about Bob, please send those by email to: shareaboutbob@gmail.com. We’ll be putting together a memory book for his sons to honor the legacy he leaves behind.”

For those not able to attend in person, you can click the link below to watch the service online.

With Deep Appreciation

We thank Mark & Brenda Smith for their years of service to our Juniors Sabbath School class. They have led that class with extraordinary faithfulness, mentoring our students in the way of Christ. Only Heaven can measure the depth and longevity of their impact on time and eternity. Thank you, Brenda & Mark, for your generous service! As you retire from Juniors SS leadership, we bless you and wish you many happy years with the adults :)

SNACK SHACK 2025 – HELPERS NEEDED!

Contact Aileen Stanley ASAP at 503/780-1470 (cell & WhatsApp) or by email at pvcpantherspathfinderclub@gmail.com.

Our PVC Panthers Pathfinder club needs your help! With the younger ages of our current club, we have a great need for people that can serve ice cream, drinks, and bento bowls. The youngest person that can help must be 14 years of age, but there is no upper age limit. In fact, only adults can serve the bento bowls.

Our Pathfinder club has been working at the Snack Shack since 2012 every camp-meeting to raise funds for our club to attend the International NAD Camporee. Some of the funds have been used for Bible Experience trips and for discounting the constantly increasing cost of the great events Pathfinders participate in. Please help if you are able. Thank you for supporting your Pathfinder club!

PVC WILL BE CLOSED ON JULY 26

See you at camp meeting!

Other options for worship include in-person service at Sunnyside Church, or watching the livestream.

Sexual Integrity 101

Coming Fall, 2025

PVC will be hosting a series of mid-week conversations around God’s vision for sexuality called Sexual Integrity 101, and we look forward to having you in the room with us. We all desire sexual integrity for ourselves and for others, but often struggle to know where to start, and that’s what this is for. We are learning to live as people who are free — so keep your eyes out for more information coming soo for Sexual Integrity 101 this Fall.

SI-101 is a forum for learning and everyone is welcome. Parents, partners, singles, teachers, leaders, and Christians of all life stages will benefit, and even those who personally want freedom from the effects of unwanted sexual behavior and betrayal.

SAVE THE DATE FOR OUTDOOR CHURCH!

We’re celebrating with the Panasuk, Morrison and Barron families as they recently welcomed new members to their families:

Jason and Melissa Panasuk welcomed Alissya Lee Panasuk  on May 29!
Sarah, Juan, and Rafa Barron welcomed Amaris Rose Esperanza Barron on April 29. You can bless the Barrons with a meal!
Morgan Huffman and Tyler Morrison welcomed Noa Rae Huffman-Morrison on May 10. You can bless them with a meal!

SPIRITUAL COMPANIONSHIP

micro-groups

Faith was never meant to be a solo journey, and every single one of us needs an earthly friend as a companion in the light.  Consider joining or starting a "micro-group": a group of 2-4 people living in the light together, practicing reading Scripture, prayer, and honesty, and meeting once a week.

You can choose your own group members. If you want to join a group and have no one to invite, we can try to link you up with an existing group or someone else looking for a partner. Visit pvclife.com/groups for more information.

THE JOURNEY TO WHOLENESS - Christ-centered Twelve Step Recovery

Thursdays at 7:00pm • Pleasant Valley Church Youth Room (Rm 5)

Are you looking for more support in your journey to living free? Maybe you're working through the process of reckoning and release that we've been talking about in our Unburdened series and the Releasing Bitterness seminar. Perhaps you've lost a loved one through death or divorce, and you'd like support in your journey. Or maybe you've been wrestling with an unhealthy dependency upon substances or other destructive behaviors. Did you know that PVC has a weekly 12-step recovery group meeting called Journey to Wholeness?

Journey to Wholeness is a support system for people of any faith (or lack thereof) who are struggling with things that are hurting them or the people they love. It presents a 12-step model for understanding God and ourselves as God’s creation.

Come on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM and you'll find a safe and anonymous group of individuals who are committed to health, healing, sanity, and serenity. We hope you'll join us on the Journey to Wholeness!

LIBRARY BOOK CART

"We've got a lot of new books that have just been donated," reports our Book Cart librarian, Rit Kunau. You're encouraged to find a book that might bless you and take it home with you. Bring it back when you're ready for the next person to read it. There are books for adults and for children.

PRAYER WARRIORS:

Join us Sabbath Mornings at 8:30 am in Room 7

Prayer Warriors support the church through prayer, interceding, or earnestly asking for God's will to be done, for others. If you are interested in being a part of the Prayer Warriors group, please contact the church office.
