PVC’s Team of Elders are putting details in place for our Pastor Appreciation on Sabbath, October 24. We need your help to show our Pastoral team of Kessia Reyne, Greg, and Hannah some extra love. We’re asking the congregation to again bring gift cards to your favorite (or if you happen to know their favorite) restaurants, grocery stores, activities, fun locations, or even Amazon. We'll divide these between our 3 pastors and present our gifts of appreciation to them on October 24. So, remember to turn in your purchased gift cards in an envelope marked with 'Pastor Appreciation Gift' into the locked offering boxes (sanctuary and foyer) OR into one of the designated large collection envelopes. Would you also write brief notes of appreciation to go with your gift cards? There are so many reasons to appreciate our pastors. Let’s tell them specifically how much we value what they do for us as a PVC family. Let's show the ❤ for our pastors!

Plan now to join us for a wonderful time of food and fellowship at next month's potluck. Here's how to participate:
1.  Drop your dish off in the kitchen and place it in the appropriate oven, warming oven, or refrigerator.
2.  When the meal wraps up, help with cleanup before heading out.

Come join your fellow PVC seniors for a relaxed morning of fun and fellowship in the church fellowship hall! We'll have hot drinks and goodies ready — all you need to bring is a smile and a friendly spirit. 😊 Settle in for a good visit, or bring along your favorite puzzle or game and invite others to play. These monthly gatherings are all about staying connected with the people who matter most — your spiritual community.

PVC men of faith of all ages who would like to sing in a male chorus ministry for the glory of God are invited to join the Oregon Adventist Men’s Chorus (OAMC) for their 2027 season kickoff weekend on Friday evening and all day Sabbath, October 16 and 17, at Sunnyside Adventist Church, 10501 SE Market St., Portland, Oregon.

It’s an opportunity to join other PVC men in the chorus: Mike Mirasol, Roger Kramer, Robert Stafford and Sam Vigil. Most rehearsals, November through April, will be held here at PVC.

The kickoff weekend is a prime opportunity to be introduced to OAMC, the new music for the season, get acquainted with other singers, and join in worship, prayer and fellowship over the provided Sabbath lunch and light dinner. One does not have to be an Adventist to join. You’re welcome to invite men of other Christian faiths to join you.

Friday evening rehearsal begins at 6:00 pm, with registration opening at 5:00 pm to receive music. Sabbath morning begins at 9:00 am with singing and worship, a break for the provided lunch, and more singing in the afternoon followed by a light fellowship dinner.

What does joining require? OAMC asks for generally one Sabbath afternoon rehearsal a month from October to May, Friday evening and all-day Sabbath for the both the October kickoff and the May spring concert (only two Fridays and two all-day Sabbaths all year), rehearsing your part with recorded rehearsal tracks - provided for you - between monthly rehearsals, and dues of $55 to help cover the cost of copying music, licensing and rehearsal aids.

Gardiner McKay passed away the morning of September 17. Gardiner had been a smiling face, greeting at the back door for many years.
Sadly, his mother, Gloria Muncie passed away the same afternoon, just hours after Gardiner. Extra prayer cover for the family is appreciated during this time of loss.

 Journey to Wholeness is a support system for people of any faith (or lack thereof) who are struggling with things that are hurting them or the people they love. It presents a 12-step model for understanding God and ourselves as God’s creation.

Come on Thursday nights at 7:00 PM and you'll find a safe and anonymous group of individuals who are committed to health, healing, sanity, and serenity. We hope you'll join us on the Journey to Wholeness!

We have a church subscription to Dwell Audio Bible, a mobile-based app for your phone or tablet that lets you listen to Scripture in a variety of translation with a rich list of features, like themed playlists, kids’ devotionals, reading plans, memorize mode, and reflection options. If you join our membership, you’ll have access to all of the subscription features for the next year, and we encourage all of our PVC Fam to take this opportunity to make Scripture a part of daily life. 

Faith was never meant to be a solo journey, and every single one of us needs an earthly friend as a companion in the light.  Consider joining or starting a "micro-group": a group of 2-4 people living in the light together, practicing reading Scripture, prayer, and honesty, and meeting once a week.
