This week, Oregon Adventist churches received further guidance regarding masking and distancing protocols from the Oregon Conference administration and the Oregon Health Authority.
Because PVC does not wish to engage in vaccine verification for individual members, we have decided to take a more careful approach, maintaining masking and distancing indoors for all in-person attendees until our state and/or county reaches the threshold when 70% of eligible vaccine candidates have been vaccinated.
With progress being made throughout Oregon, we expect this 70% threshold will be met soon.
Two pieces of good news: First, outside activities no longer require masks or distancing protocols. This guidance is for everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Masks and physical distancing are still recommended for non-vaccinated individuals, but they are no longer required. This means that churches are now free to plan hikes and other outdoor activities on or off church property. Second, platform program participants who are fully vaccinated may lead out without wearing face coverings. This is great, because we know that communication is much more effective when a presenter is not wearing a face covering while leading out.
Thank you PVC family for your prayerful support as we continue to pursue unity while so many forces seek to divide.
